The Hungarian competitors are ready, the race track is taking shape, and the stars of the SuperEnduro World Championship are arriving at the MVM Dome. All of this means that preparations are nearly complete for one of the most exciting motorsport events of the year: the SuperEnduro GP of Hungary.

Preparations for the SuperEnduro GP of Hungary have entered the final stage, and the riders are fully prepared – this was confirmed at the event’s press conference on Thursday. Tamás Őry, the Hungarian promoter of the race, emphasized that the strongest-ever Hungarian “team” will line up at the start on Saturday, and he is confident they will be fighting for victory.

“I am extremely proud that for years now we have been able to host the world’s best at the largest indoor technical motorsport event in Hungary,” said Tamás Őry. “SuperEnduro has become increasingly popular in Hungary in recent years; the rules no longer need explaining, nor do the riders need introducing. We are not only a sporting nation, but a nation of fans as well, which is why it is so important that this year we have the strongest Hungarian rider line up ever at the start. I don’t want to put pressure on the boys, but I truly hope we will hear the Hungarian national anthem on Saturday evening. As for the venue, it is a huge task to build the track starting from five o’clock Thursday morning, but the team is simply outstanding, so by Saturday everything will be ready to welcome the spectators.”

Ōry also pointed out that SuperEnduro perfectly matches changing fan habits: it offers a spectacular, fast-paced and compact experience. It is no coincidence that 13–14,000 spectators follow the action live at the venue. With the support of partners such as V-Híd, Tippmix and NSMI, organizers are striving to meet all expectations of the fans.

Henrik Hermann, President of the Hungarian Motorsport Federation, confirmed that interest within the motorcycling community continues to grow year by year.

“It is extremely beneficial for Hungarian motorsport and for youth development that such a prestigious event visits our country,” said Henrik Hermann. “On the one hand, our riders can measure themselves against the world’s elite; on the other, young talents are given a clear goal to aspire to. The track designed by Kornél Németh Jr. is worthy of world championship standards – it will be slightly more trial-oriented than last time, and I am certain it will give the riders plenty to think about.”

Among the Hungarian competitors, Norbert Zsigovits and Márk Szőke will compete in the European Cup, while Roland Liszka will line up in the Junior World Championship field.

“This is the race I look forward to the most every year,” Zsigovits revealed. “Not only because this is the best-equipped arena with the largest crowd, but of course because the Hungarian fans are here. There are no better supporters in the world – they live every moment of the race with us, and I always gain incredible extra energy from their cheering. What result do I expect? Naturally, I want to win. Moreover, Márk Szőke and I have both been riding at the front of the field this season, so hopefully one of us will make it onto the podium.”

Zsigovits’ first World Championship round of the season did not go according to plan, as he suffered a few crashes and also struggled with the bike setup. However, at the second race he already managed to secure a race win.

Roland Liszka has not yet competed in a SuperEnduro event this season, but that has not stopped him from setting ambitious goals.

“I prepared throughout the entire winter. Because of the weather conditions, I mainly focused on motocross, but I didn’t neglect SuperEnduro either. I’m really looking forward to this weekend’s race, where I’ll be lining up with a brand-new bike. As for the field, the championship leader clearly stands out from the rest, but behind him there are several riders competing at a very similar level. That’s the beauty of SuperEnduro: nothing is impossible. If I can get through the race without crashes, a top-five finish is within reach – although of course I’d be even happier to step onto the podium!”

Ticket sales for Saturday’s race are still ongoing. Further information is available at superenduro.hu.
